lines after lines,
whispering to the skies, my prayers
vocalized and sub-vocalized
within my mind, my heart and my soul.
Then I release it, my prayer lantern
lit with a golden flame, sent aloft
my wish to the gods above.
I want to hope and remain hopeful.
