Apologies for being so tardy in responding to this, many factors are involved, none of which need to be expanded on. Well, one that has bearing on this Wave (I really do like calling the chapters that for this story).
I am enjoying the story, your writing, your phrasing and the images you are evoking in my mind's eye. However (you knew a 'however' was coming, didn't you?), my Inner Editor has been jumping up and down, having a temper tantrum and generally acting like a spoiled two-year-old, as much as I want to try that chicken stew (and trust me, I will, I have a crock pot!), my Inner Editor is saying it does not belong in the body of the story.
I think, and I do not know for sure, that a book editor would say "Lose the recipe". Mention that Auri taught her how to make a delicious simple stew, place the recipe as an addendum at the back of the book where you make your author comments, and that might make everyone happy. For web publishing, place the recipe as an addendum at the end of this Wave, not as part of the Wave, for those folk who might be curious to try it. Like me!
Remember, this is only my opinion and I could be dead wrong about this. But, oh, orange peel and nutmeg with chicken sounds luscious.
