Some life updates.
Nov. 19th, 2009 05:18 pmWell, that's how it felt like today: Busy busy busy.
We attended Cub's orientation session at her new primary school (elementary school, for US folks) in the afternoon. It was quite overwhelming, in a good sort of way. The school is an all-girls' school, established by the Canossian Sisters. Neat, tidy, well-managed, with clear instructions for the hordes of parents arriving. We met her future form teacher (teacher-in-charge) and she struck me as a nice lady.
After a slew of talks by the principal and the sister in charge of pastoral care, it was a controlled rush to get the papers done, her uniform bought, her school books purchased (and they had them nicely-packed in a box!) and extra curricular activities looked at. She was interested in archery and wrote her name down on the list.
I don't believe I actually volunteered for the Parent Support Group (!!!!).
And I am amazed that my little girl is now going to primary school. I remember her as a wrapped-up peanut, sleeping contentedly. Now she is SIX. Many thanks to the folks who have followed her development from day one. I really appreciate your love and concern.
Dot smiled at everyone she met. She is such a cheerful baby. :)
And I caught up with baka_neko, chibiporn, anarch_kitty and harlzen. It was great talking about the JAFWA days and fandom. We have all moved out of that period now.
Now to relax and write, with rose tea and Greek honey and gingerbread cookies. There is a pleasant coolness in the air and I feel like snuggling up with my throw around me.
